So for the past year or so I've been on a crusade..if only in my mind...to simplify my life. In a few short months I will be doing that. We'll be moving from the Midwest to the East Coast, from a 2 bedroom house with a garage, basement, yard, etc...to a 2 bedroom 720 sq foot apartment while my husband goes back to school. Not sure about him but man...I am totally excited! I am excited to get to a place for the 1st time in my life where I might only have the things around me that I need. Where I won't have the income to be buying buying buying all the time things well...I don't need. With that said I've been trying to practice this...NOW! And wouldn't you know it I am not alone. Lots of people are wanting to simplify these days, in fact I have found whole websites, blogs and even retreats for people wanting to do just this.
In my blog surfing tonight, I came across a great challenge from Crunchy Chicken, the same lady who brought us the freeze your buns off challenge. For the month of April she is challenging folks to buy nothing new. Now that doesn't meet food, gas, etc....mainly the non essential wants of life, especially if they are new. If you have to buy something, buy used!
I'm joining the challenge and I challenge you to try it too. There is something very freeing and peaceful when you just take time to live with what you only have and need.

Oh my word, that is a huge challenge! I love it, but dang... it'd be hard. I think I'll take you up on it. Care for a friendly Livin' the Life/SaveChange challenge? :-)
