Slow Food Nation Rocks San Francisco

For those who read this blog you probably remember my post about the Slow Food Event happening in San Francisco. Well it's happening this weekend and I just got an update from them via email with some images straight from the event.

This event is the first of its kind here in the United States and is due largely in part to the work of such people as Alice Waters, Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser. All three and thousands of more people realize the effect the slow food movement has in Europe and are trying to bring that same awareness around local food here in the U.S. An incredibly necessary and noble cause but often hard here in the land of McDonald's and Coke.

So for those who aren't familiar with the movement or aren't convinced of the many benefits of eating food grown close to your home I'm including a link to the pictures hot off the cameras of slow food event goers.

I myself have been mesmerized here in front of my laptop for about a half hour clicking through all of the pictures even while more were being added. They are beautifully amazing pictures capturing the true way food should be grown, sold, bought and cooked...good.....clean....and fair.

You will be amazed at the amount of goods available at the event, and if you're like me it will just make you hungry for good food.

So enjoy and do your part to support this movement here in the U.S. by buying food close to home!

Turn Your Face To The Sun

Hello my little blog readers, wondering if I'm still alive? Well I am, still here, alive and somewhat well in Syracuse. It's been a tough transition moving to a new city but I am working my way back to "normal". I'm working on some new posts but for now I'm passing on my new mantra I read on a fellow blogger.
turning away from the twisty
turning away from the high expectations
turning away from the lists
turning away from the 'i want'
turning away from the dirty dishes
turning away from the tiredness
turning my face to the sun today
